Embracing Change: My Journey Back to Graphic Design & Gearing Up for 2024

Hello, there! I'm Kansas McGraw, a graphic and web designer with a penchant for creativity, innovation, and over 10 years of experience as a graphic and web designer. On my journey, I have explored many avenues to explore my creative side. Some of these creative explorations have included watercolor painting, ceramics, calligraphy, polymer clay, paint making and more.  I have since come full circle and I've returning to my first love—design. I've realized that exploring these creative outlets helped me to develop my eye and hone my graphic and web design skills, enabling me to infuse my digital creations with a unique blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern aesthetics.

Now that we have entered a new year, I felt it was imperative to start fresh and rebrand. Rebranding isn't just about a new look though; it's about evolving to meet changing times and needs. My own rebranding journey has been transformative. It wasn't just about changing logos or color schemes; it was about rediscovering my core values and aligning them with my professional identity.

After having children, I found myself still wanting to create and pour into myself as I poured into my family. With that, I taught myself watercolor painting and calligraphy along with other artistic mediums. But it was in those two mediums that I found my happy place full of creativity and community online. I explored these mediums while broaden my artistic horizons and I gained fresh perspectives on design in the process. I realized that experimenting with different mediums and techniques can inspire innovative ideas and techniques that I could later incorporate into my graphic design work.

I love aesthetics and a good mood board, but graphic design is more than just aesthetics; it's a critical tool for building a brand's identity and story. A well-designed logo or website isn't just visually appealing; it communicates a brand's ethos and connects with the audience on a deeper level.
